Free Fonts: Handwritten & Doodles

Author: Jan Cavan, Category: Freebies

I’ve always wanted to create my own fonts. After a couple of hours trying to figure out what I wanted my character set to look like, here are the final products! I plan to create more fonts in the future but I hope you guys like this first batch that I have.

Free Fonts

The first one I named “My Name is Jan” is actually just my regular handwriting. The second I named “Jan Loves To Doodle” are a couple of doodles that I made. I’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback for my sites “paper and doodles” kind of theme so if you would like to make something of your own that is of a similar theme, these may come in handy. The last font that I am giving away I named “I Wuz Here!” for… errr… no particular reason at all. But I kinda like it.

These fonts are licensed under Creative Commons License and they are free to use for your personal and commercial projects. But if you could let me know where you used it, that would be much appreciated.

You may download the files (PC & Mac) from these links:

what tool(s) did you use to create and develop and tune your fonts? ?

they are friendly!

@ian: Thanks! I tried installing Fontographer but unfortunately, I am unable to launch the application due to some error. I just kept browsing the web to see what other alternative applications to use ’til I came across this site. IMO, it’s pretty neat especially if it’s the first time you’ll be creating your own fonts. – http://www.yourfonts.com/

@everyone: Thanks! Glad y’all like it!

I love hand drawn fonts! Thanks for making these and sharing them. I absolutely LOVE the design of your blog! And the ’sketched’ fonts like the one you use for ‘disclaimer’ below look so great too.
